IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT : Sneak Peek at Exciting Events Calendar 2024

Dear Table Tennis Community,

We are thrilled to unveil our incredible lineup of events for the upcoming year, 2024. The TTWA board is pleased to share our commitment to enhancing the competition experience for our players, members, and spectators. Brace yourselves for an action-packed year with thrilling matches, skill-building opportunities, and unforgettable moments.

In addition to our usual seasonal pennants and club events, we are proud to present a lineup of major events that will redefine the playing field and competition landscape in 2024:

1. National Hopes Qualification & Pathway Camp/WA in January: Kicking off the year with a bang, this event will be run by the new National Head Coach and hosted by TTWA. It serves as a pivotal stepping stone for our young, talented players.

2. Juniors Grand Prix Series in February, March & June: In this exciting series spanning three months, our juniors will have a chance to compete and elevate their games in preparation for the National Championships in July.

3. Inaugural TTWA Elite Invitational Challenge: A grand invitation to the best! We've extended invitations to 8 international and/or national players with ratings above 2000. Five have already confirmed, and a qualification round will determine 4-6 wildcards for the Top 24 main draw.

4. Intensive Training Camps with International Coach: Elevate your skills through 5-day camps in March and June, tailored for WA state team members (juniors, seniors & para), followed by group coaching sessions for all players.

5. Inaugural WA Juniors Closed Championship in May: Battle it out to become the first-ever junior champion in this prestigious event.

6. National Championships in WA in July: The pinnacle of competition awaits as the National Championships takes place right here on our home turf.

7. Inaugural TTA Tour Perth in July: We are very excited to have an opportunity to co-host a top-notch national level table tennis competition annually in Perth, starting from 2024.

8. Inaugural Challenger Cup (Formerly known as Top 12 Challenge) in August: An exciting addition to our calendar! Prepare for the inaugural Challenger Cup, a captivating event that promises fierce competition between players from near and far. The cut off will be widened to allow more players to have a chance to participate than previously did under Top 12 Challenge format.

9. West Coast Open in April: WA's second-highest-profile event.

10. WA State Open in August: WA's pinnacle open event.

11. Inaugural WA Vets Closed Championship in September: For our seasoned vet players, a chance to prove that skill only improves with time.

12. Grand Prix Proper in September, October, November & December: The Grand Prix Proper of the year, spread across multiple months to keep the excitement alive for the Top 16.

To ensure the smooth execution of these events, we're in the process of forming a dedicated “Tournament Committee” in addition to “Match Committee” that currently oversees Seasonal Pennants. Stay tuned as we finalize 2024 Events Calendar with exact dates, ensuring they align with other national-level events held in other cities.
